In 2005, a total of 7 bass tournaments were reported. Since 1999, the number of reported bass fishing tournaments has averaged approximately 9 tournaments per year. When compared to other reservoirs nearby (i.e. Rough River Lake and Barren River Lake), Nolin River Lake generally receives less bass tournament angling pressure compared to Rough River and Barren River Lakes (this information is based upon the number of reported bass fishing tournaments sent to the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources). Anglers fishing Nolin River Lake must obey the 15-inch minimum size limit on largemouth and smallmouth bass, with the exception that one fish may be under the 15-inch minimum size limit. The daily possession limit on black bass is 6 fish.
